Each year Nebraska Extension and the Department of Agricultural Economics hosts a two-day conference designed for women producers involved in any aspect of agriculture and the agriculture industry in our state. Many women suddenly find themselves involved in the family farm or ranch through marriage or as the sole owner/operator through the death of a spouse, inheritance from parents or they choose to purchase their own operation. They may have little to no background or education in marketing, crop insurance, government programs, the economics of crop and livestock production, financials, transition and succession planning and many other topics. This conference focuses on bringing these risk management topics and many others to producers through keynote speakers, concurrent workshops and exhibitors. Women will engage in discussion, networking, have a little fun, meet new friends and go home motivated and ready to tackle the issues of everyday life on the farm and the ranch all while making better business decisions!
